East Bay College Agile Network

The East Bay College Agile Network (EBCAN) is in Year 3 (Y3) of this innovative partnership. The partnership includes Chabot Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD) and its two colleges, Chabot College, Las Positas College and California State University East Bay (CSUEB). EBCAN works to increase college completion and transfer rates, decrease time to graduation and narrow the equity gap at CSUEB and CLPCCD colleges to contribute to economic mobility for all students.  EBCAN is increasing targeted support services at “stuck points” in transitions and aligning communication to students across community college and university systems.

EBCAN enjoys considerable philanthropic and community support.   To date the work has been funded by multiple foundations including the Koret Foundation, ECMC Foundation, Lumina Foundation and the College Futures Foundation. The EBCAN Pathways Mapping efforts are supported with Technical Assistance provided by the California State Universities’ Chancellor’s Office.

The EBCAN initiative commenced in Spring 2020 with planning grant funding from the Koret Foundation.  This initial funding formed the foundation of the EBCAN Project by allowing attainment of data, collected and detailed by the RP Group,  that framed the work and provided opportunities for this intersegmental team to build relationships and begin to organize the work and intersegmental teams..

Year 3 (Y3) included key successes and critical  funding support from the ECMC Foundation, the Lumina Foundation and the CSU Office of the Chancellor.  Year two also resulted in the formation of EBCAN Teams focused on key areas necessary to meet project goals.

As we delve into (Y 3) goals, we are elated to have received new funding from Congressman Swalwell’s Community  Projects

EBCAN is critical for our students, their families, our institutions, and as a demonstration project for other regional initiatives.   Further, when our students succeed, the entire region benefits
