  • I recognize that we are basing our Fall classes on the status of the county in Feb/March, but how flexible can we really be as the county guidelines open up?
    • The District will continue to adapt to changes in the guidelines and regulations. Class schedules may be adjusted prior to the start of each instructional session based upon the recommendation of the Vice President of Instruction on each campus
  • How will we know if the recommendations that Madeline made for departments were all completed or authorized by the district?
    • Individual walkthroughs and audits have been and will be performed by Forensic Analytical Consultants Services Inc. (FACS). Upon return, additional facility audits will be performed by the FACS staff members.
  • How much of a concern are the new variants of COVID originating from Brazil and India (and new mutations appearing anywhere else in the future) in regards to the reopening of the county & state?
    • U.S. emergency temporary approved vaccines are still very effective in preventing severe disease from COVID-19, and vaccination is the best protection. California is sequencing 10% of cases to make sure the state rapidly identifies any emerging problems.
  • Are events (for example, graduations) allowed to be held on campus by outside community members, and if so, is there a maximum capacity?
    • On-campus events for internal organization members and outside community members are allowed when the organizer can demonstrate that they can meet the requirements and guidelines established by the governing agency (ACPH, CDPH CDC, Cal-OSHA) for the type and size of the event
  • For traveling competitive programs, will students be required to have a vaccine, and will we be able to travel in the late Fall/Spring? 
    • It is anticipated the CCC Athletic Association regulations will change and that State guidelines will allow travel and competitions based upon the COVID-19 case rates within each area of the state. At this time, individual team members traveling in the same vehicle are required to wear a mask (June 4, 2021).
  • What is the current status of holding campus events on campus in the Spring semester?
    • By spring semester 2022, the District anticipates we will be back to full operation without limitation on event size. 
  • Where can I find up-to-date asynchronous videos and other training materials for hiring student assistants who cannot attend synchronous training sessions such as this?
